Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's debut female singer for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The first album she released on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 she continued to upload her music via the web, including her own launched single Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's references. Later in the season, the music was played all over Dreamville. Her announcement to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP called Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks featuring EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video came out on the 5th. Then on November 9 she dropped two more singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November two singles called No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song was followed by a music video in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube within its first seven days. As a support act she performed together with 6LACK in December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
